Healing Skin, Healing Confidence: How One Woman Turned Her Melasma Battle into a Global Movement
From her own 20-year struggle with dark patches to helping women around the world rediscover their confidence, Sarit Shoshani of Skin Shine by Sarit is redefining what real skin healing looks like.
When Sarit Shoshani first landed in Las Vegas over a decade ago, she dreamed of making faces glow with makeup. What she didn’t know was that her true calling would come from beneath the surface, quite literally.
“I realized it doesn’t matter how much makeup you apply if the skin underneath isn’t healthy,” she recalls. “No makeup in the world is going to save you.”
That realization, born from her own long battle with melasma, became the spark that changed everything. Melasma, those stubborn dark patches that often appear on women’s faces, had been Sarit’s unwanted companion for over twenty years. She tried every cream, treatment, and promise the beauty industry offered. Nothing worked.
Until one day, she decided to heal herself.
From Desperation to Discovery
It was 2020, the world had shut down, and Sarit, like so many others, found herself at a crossroads. She packed her life into storage, left Las Vegas, and escaped to Mexico. There, under the blazing sun, her skin flared worse than ever before.
“It really broke me,” she says quietly. “I remember looking in the mirror and thinking, Why me? Why can’t I just be normal?”
With social media flooded by perfect, filtered faces, Sarit’s confidence sank lower. Yet somewhere between the sting of sun and saltwater, she made a decision. When she returned to Nevada, a new state unemployment program offered free education. One of the options: esthetics school.
“That was my sign,” she says. “It was time. Deep down, I knew this was what I was meant to do.”
In that moment, Sarit wasn’t just signing up for a license. She was starting a movement.
Learning to Heal, Not Just Treat
At school, Sarit quickly realized that her years working in the cosmetics industry, selling countless brands on commission, had taught her one essential truth: most skincare only scratches the surface.
“In esthetics, you can’t just be another face in the crowd,” she explains. “There’s an aesthetician on every corner. You need to be outstanding.”
Her focus became clear: hyperpigmentation, and specifically, melasma. Few specialists in the world focused on it deeply, and even fewer understood it beyond creams and lasers. Sarit wanted to be different.
She began studying nutrition and holistic health, earning a certification in nutrition coaching to understand what she calls the “root cause” of skin issues.
“Melasma isn’t just a surface problem,” she says. “It’s internal. You can’t fix hormonal chaos with a laser or chemical peel.”
Her philosophy took shape: treat from within.
A Viral Breakthrough and a Hug That Changed Everything
Like many small business owners, Sarit turned to social media to share her message. For months, her TikTok videos barely reached a few hundred viewers. But her friend encouraged her to keep going. “TikTok will be your break,” they said.
And one day, it was.
Sarit shared the story of a remote client from California who had suffered from melasma for over eleven years. After working with Sarit’s customized system for less than two months, the client’s skin was clear and glowing. She flew to Las Vegas just to hug Sarit and thank her in person.
That video went viral, viewed by hundreds of thousands. Overnight, Sarit’s message reached women from around the world, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Canada, and beyond.
“My TikTok changed my life,” she says. “Now I help clients in places I never imagined I could reach.”
Built on Values, Not Vanity
Sarit’s mission goes far beyond beauty. “What inspires me is giving women back their confidence,” she says. “I’ve seen clients who haven’t gone out without makeup in 15 years. One woman hadn’t seen her own mother in eight years because she was ashamed of her skin.”
Her tone softens as she continues. “When a client tells me, ‘I don’t wear makeup anymore,’ I feel like I’m in heaven. Because I was that woman. I know how that feels.”
Sarit’s success isn’t just emotional; it’s built on a clear system she developed through years of research and personal experience. Recently registered as a trademark, her method is called “20% in Clinic, 80% at Home, 100% Result.”
“It means you have to take responsibility,” she explains. “A cream won’t save you. One facial won’t save you. What you see on your skin is a signal from your body that something inside is off.”
This philosophy forms the foundation of her business, Skin Shine by Sarit, which now operates in Las Vegas and serves clients globally through virtual consultations.
The System That’s Changing Skincare
Unlike traditional skincare programs, Sarit’s approach starts with understanding her clients’ lifestyles, nutrition, and stress levels. She even asks questions that might surprise you.
“I ask my clients about their digestion, even their poop,” she laughs. “Because it’s all connected. Your body detoxes through multiple pathways, and when one is blocked, your skin shows it.”
Her consultations are deep and personalized. She reviews everything from dietary habits to hormonal balance, then provides a clear action plan supported by her two educational e-books: 22 Steps to Reset and Balance Your Hormones and Melasma 360.
“These books are their homework,” she says. “They teach how to reduce toxicity in the home, what cookware to use, what detergents to avoid, and what ingredients to look for. Because everything we touch affects our hormones and skin.”
It’s an unconventional path in an industry obsessed with quick fixes, but it works.
“If you follow the blueprint, you’ll see results,” she insists. “I’ve had women who struggled for 20 years finally see clear, glowing skin.”
Rising Above Critics and Copycats
Of course, the journey hasn’t been without its battles. “The hardest part,” Sarit admits, “was realizing that not everyone will support you. Some people, even colleagues, don’t want to see you succeed.”
But rather than dim her light, that resistance fueled her determination. “It all happened for the best,” she says. “It pushed me to be even better.”
Her growing visibility also attracted unwanted attention. “One Korean skincare company actually stole my before-and-after photos,” she says, shaking her head. “They used AI to make it look like I endorsed them and even stole my clients.”
Instead of bitterness, Sarit responded with resolve. “If they copied me, that means I’m doing something right,” she says firmly. “But it also shows how broken the beauty system is. If Korean skincare was so perfect, they wouldn’t have to steal my work.”
A Community Rooted in Confidence
Despite the challenges, Sarit’s growing community continues to rally around her mission. “Women message me from everywhere,” she says. “They tell me, ‘I finally feel beautiful again.’ That’s why I do this.”
Her social media presence has become a beacon for those who have tried everything and are ready to dig deeper. On TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, she shares educational content, real results, and honest conversations about what true healing takes.
“It doesn’t matter how many followers you have,” she reminds other entrepreneurs. “People are watching. They may not comment, but they see you. And when they’re ready, they’ll reach out.”
Looking Ahead: Spreading the Shine
Six to twelve months from now, Sarit envisions expanding her reach beyond Nevada. “I definitely want to open another location,” she says. “And I want to start training other estheticians in my system. It’s something the industry needs.”
Her dream is to teach professionals to see the skin not as a surface to fix, but as a story to understand. “Every breakout, every patch, every pigment mark, it’s your body talking,” she says. “When we listen, we heal.”
A Message for Every Woman Who Feels Broken
Before wrapping up, Sarit pauses, her voice full of quiet conviction.
“If you’re dealing with a skin issue and you feel like your body has failed you,” she says, “I want to tell you, you are not broken. The system is. Even if you think you’ve tried everything, I promise you haven’t. Because all you’ve tried are surface-level quick fixes. You never looked inside. That’s where I come in.”
Through virtual consultations, Sarit now helps clients around the globe uncover what their skin has been trying to tell them. “Location is just an excuse,” she says. “Stop making excuses. Let’s start doing the real work from the inside out.”
