Where Kids Shine and Parents Can Finally Sit Still

At Sit Still Kids Salon in Summerlin, haircuts become happy memories, glitter becomes a statement, and every child leaves with a little more confidence.

The sound of giggles bounces off the walls of Sit Still Kids Salon as a stylist carefully weaves shimmering strands of pink and silver into a young girl’s hair. Across the room, another child inspects their glitter tattoo in the mirror, beaming at their reflection. Parents sip coffee nearby, relaxed for once, watching the joyful chaos unfold like a well-choreographed dance.

It is not your average salon. It feels more like a celebration, one part spa day, one part playdate, and one hundred percent magic.

That magic is exactly what owner Sarah Stetson envisioned when she brought Sit Still Kids Salon to Las Vegas.

How a Simple Idea Sparked Something Special

For Sarah, inspiration came in the form of glitter tattoos and a Google search.

“I saw it online in another city,” she recalls, laughing. “I have two kids, seven and four, and I thought, oh, that would be so fun for my kids. I wondered if there was a Sit Still here.”

When she reached out to the company and learned there wasn’t one in Las Vegas, the response caught her off guard. “They said, no, but you should open it,” she says. “And that’s where it started. Everyone I talked to thought it was a great idea.”

That spontaneous moment of curiosity evolved into a full-fledged business, one that has quickly captured the hearts of families across Summerlin.

Sit Still Kids Salon may be part of a growing franchise, but Sarah’s location carries her unique touch and an atmosphere that feels equal parts chic and childlike, modern and magical.

Built on Smiles, Glitter, and a Whole Lot of Heart

When asked what drives her today, Sarah doesn’t hesitate. “Just making families happy,” she says simply. “Giving them something fun and exciting to do, and seeing how happy the kids are when they’re done, that’s what keeps me going.”

That philosophy defines every part of the Sit Still experience. The team doesn’t just give haircuts. They craft moments of joy for children and peace of mind for parents.

“The name ‘Sit Still’ is kind of a play on words,” Sarah explains. “We want the kids to sit still while they’re getting their haircut, but it’s also for the parents to sit back and relax while our stylists take care of their kids.”

It is that dual focus on both children and parents that sets the business apart. In a world where errands with kids can feel like mini-marathons, Sit Still offers a rare pause button.

A New Name in Town, A Growing Following

While Sit Still Kids Salon may be a franchise, Sarah knew her biggest challenge would be recognition.

“We’re not like McDonald’s,” she says with a grin. “Where if you open one, it’s automatically known. We’re a relatively new franchise, and there wasn’t one here in Vegas. So just getting our name out there has been the biggest challenge.”

Her strategy? Get creative, get local, and get involved.

Sarah and her team have been popping up at community events around Summerlin, offering free glitter tattoos at children’s stores and festivals, hosting themed events for holidays, and spreading the word one sparkle at a time.

“It’s been fun,” she says. “We’ve been doing community events and want to do more for Halloween. The more we get out there, the more people realize we’re here.”

And once people discover Sit Still, they rarely forget it.

Where Every Kid Feels Like a VIP

Walk into Sit Still, and you immediately notice the difference. It’s not just a haircut; it’s a full-service experience designed for kids from start to finish.

“Just the way that we treat the kids and the services that we offer are completely innovative compared to what’s out there,” Sarah says. “We’re like a full-service kids’ salon: hair, nails, sparkle strands, braids. There’s nobody else offering that right now.”

The menu of services reads like a dream list for any child who loves color and creativity. Kids can choose from trendy styles like the “dragon braid,” inspired by the hit K-pop Demon Hunters, or relax with a gentle manicure complete with glitter polish.

Each visit is as much about fun as it is about confidence. “We just had someone come in for a dragon braid,” Sarah says, smiling. “It’s always cool to see what they pick and how excited they get when they see themselves in the mirror.”

Creating Comfort for Every Child

Sit Still isn’t just about sparkle; it’s about sensitivity, too. Sarah has made inclusivity and comfort a priority, ensuring that every child feels safe and cared for.

“We offer quiet hours for kids who have sensory issues,” she explains. “If they need to come in before we open or stay a little later, we can do that. Haircuts can be really hard for kids with sensory challenges, so we try to make sure they feel comfortable in the salon.”

That kind of care has earned Sit Still a loyal following. Parents appreciate the empathy and flexibility, while kids look forward to coming back. It’s a win-win that makes every appointment feel personal.

Community, Confidence, and Connection

When asked where she hopes to see the business in the next six to twelve months, Sarah’s goals are simple but meaningful.

“I’d love to be booked solid on weekends,” she says. "Weekends are definitely busier than weekdays right now. I’d also love to see more of our existing clients coming back more often.”

For her, growth isn’t just about numbers. It’s about deepening community connections.

“We want to be more involved in local events,” she adds. “The more we can give back to the community, the stronger we’ll become as a business.”

That community-minded approach is already paying off. Families share their experiences on social media, spreading the word organically. “Almost everybody finds us through Instagram,” Sarah admits with a laugh. “It’s been a huge help for us.”

A Joyful Future, One Haircut at a Time

In a city known for its glitz and glamour, Sit Still Kids Salon stands out for a different kind of sparkle, the genuine kind that comes from a child’s smile.

Sarah’s dream isn’t just to run a business; it’s to create a place where families can share joy, creativity, and connection. Her journey from a curious mom to a successful business owner is a reminder that sometimes the best ideas start with a simple question: “Wouldn’t that be fun?”

As Sarah puts it, “Just come see us. Bring your kids. If you have any questions, reach out. We’re happy to work with people.”

At Sit Still Kids Salon, fun and care come first, and the results speak for themselves, one glitter strand, one dragon braid, one confident smile at a time.
